This permit allows the applicant to reside and work in Uganda for varying durations, which can be granted for 5 years, 10 years, or for a lifetime.
Once the application is submitted, it is reviewed by an Immigration Officer. During the approval process, additional information may be required, which can be submitted electronically through the "Manage your applications" portal. The decision will be communicated via email, and if approved, an approval letter will be sent as an attachment.
It’s important to note that a travel letter does not grant permission to enter Uganda. Applicants from visa-prone countries must apply for a visa before traveling to Uganda. Upon entry, a valid travel document with a minimum validity of 6 months must be presented.
