What is a Visiting Permit?
A Visiting Permit allows visitors to stay in Zambia for a period exceeding 90 days. It is initially valid for three months and can be renewed for up to a maximum of nine months within a 12-month period.
Requirements for a New Application
To apply for a Visiting Permit, prepare the following:
- Covering Letter: From the applicant, addressed to the Director General of Immigration.
- Letter of Consent: From the host, explaining the reason for the extended visit and supporting the application.
- Proof of Host's Status: Evidence that the host is either a Zambian national or a valid permit holder.
- Passport: Certified copy of the applicant’s valid passport, including the bio-data page and the last endorsement stamp for Zambia.
- Photograph: One recent passport-sized photo.
- Travel Arrangements: A copy of the return air ticket or proof of ability to return, such as the applicant’s or host’s bank statement.
- Prescribed Fee: Payment of the applicable fee.
