    The Student Pass in Tanzania allows foreign students to study in recognized training institutions, ranging from primary and secondary schools to higher education institutions. The pass is categorized into two types, catering to different age groups and educational needs.

    General Requirements for All Passes:

    1. Copy of Valid Passport (if available)
    2. Covering Letter from Respective Institution
    3. Previous Copy of Pass (for renewal)
    4. Relevant Fee (depending on the type of Pass)

    Categories of the Student Pass:

    1. Student Pass I:
      This is issued to persons studying in approved training establishments, including children of legally residing persons who are above the age of majority.

      Specific Requirements for Student Pass I:

      • Certificate of Registration of Institution/School
      • Evidence of Sponsorship/Scholarship
      • Evidence of Enrolment
      • Admission Letter
      • Joining Instruction
    2. Student Pass II:
      This is issued to children of persons legally residing in the country who are below the age of majority and have not been endorsed in their parents' residence permits. The pass is intended for students attending approved training establishments, including kindergartens, primary, and secondary schools, as well as other higher learning institutions.

      • Admission Letter
      • Evidence of Sponsorship/Scholarship
      • Parent Consent (if under a guardian)
      • Copy of Valid Resident Permit/Exemption Certificate/Dependent Pass of Parent or Guardian
      • Birth Certificates (child/parents)
      • Copy of Passport of Parent

    Note:

    • Language teaching institutions are not eligible for the 2-year Pass validity. Applicants wishing to study languages may only apply for a 3-month visa.
    • All document copies should be certified.

    Application Process:

    1. Prepare the Required Documents: Gather all the relevant documents, including proof of enrollment, sponsorship, and admission.
    2. Submit the Application Online: Access the online application through the official Tanzania Immigration Department’s website and fill out the necessary forms.
